We're Baaaaaaack!

After an incredibly long hiatus I've decided to start back up with this long lost blog. I've decided to stop doing family posts on facebook, which is why I'm starting back up with this blog! I would like to keep interested friends and family up to date with our little family's adventures, or more likely, our ordinary, everyday life.

To kick this off here are back to school pictures! School started the day after Labor Day for us. Adam is going back to St. Joseph Catholic School as a middle school teacher. This is his 6th year teacher! Alida and Giovanni are going to Holy Family Academy. Alida (7yo) is now in the 2nd grade and Gio (5yo) is now in Kindergarten! We had a very strange first day of school, with the sky dark and glowing red from the massive wildfires that have been taking place about 45 min east of where we live. School ended up being cut short (pickup at 12:15) due to the impending fires and the town next to the kids school being put on level 2 evacuation notice (which means be ready to evacuate). The rest of the week was cancelled due to poor air quality, but the next week we were able to go back to half days (still because of hazardous air quality). Thankfully we had a wonderful downpour and the air quality has greatly improved, so the plan for this week is to go back to school as normal!

Happy Veterans Day!

Happy Veterans Day to all of our family members who have served our country and/or are currently serving our country! Thank you for all that you do/have done to help better our country and the people that live here. Adam had to work today, but my parents, sister, and brother-in-law had the day off, so Alida and I were able to enjoy some time with them this afternoon. Alida woke up with a bit of a stomach bug this morning, but seems to be feeling better, which we are so thankful for! We hope that everyone had a great day! This picture was taken in early October. We have a great apple tree in our backyard that grows 2 different kinds of apples! Alida found this apple on the ground and thought that she'd give it a try... She definitely enjoyed that apple, so I'd say it was a good pick! Alida learned how to climb up on our kitchen chairs in mid-October. I thought that pushing the chairs in under the table would be able to prevent her from climbing on them when ...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Wow! I don't know where to begin with all that has been going on this past week, so I'll let the pictures do the talking... We certainly have been enjoying our extra time with Adam during this Christmas break from school and the extra days that he's gotten to have off of work for the holidays! Here Adam and Alida are playing dress up- below is a video of how the process worked... unfortunately the video is sideways, so you may have to turn your head, or the computer screen...enjoy! The Very Hungry Caterpillar is quickly becoming a favorite of Alida's, this girl definitely loves story time! She didn't want to wear her clothes, but Alida had fun wearing her new apron from grandma! This is the new party dress that Alida got from her Great-Aunt Janell and Uncle John. She wore it to our friend's wedding which took place during Mass on the Feast of the Holy Family! And of course, no outfit is complete without movie star sunglasses! Her...
