Tomorrow's the big day!

Hi everyone! So tomorrow Adam and I go in to get the ball rolling on meeting our little man! Since Giovanni has found his comfy spot lying transversely (sideways) the doctor is going to try turning him so that he's head down. If he tolerates being turned, then we will be induced and Giovanni will be in our arms either Wednesday night, or Thursday sometime :) If our little guy does not like being turned (if his heart rate drops or he just won't turn) then we'll be having a c-section (which isn't my first preference, but God's will be done!). We will be leaving our house around 5:50 am to arrive at the hospital at 7 am. They won't officially start trying to turn him until 8:30 am, so sometime after that you'll probably be hearing from Adam saying that we either had the baby, or we're being induced! We've been trying to prepare Alida as best we can about having a new baby in the house. She's been having fun tucking all of her animals and babies in...

Dress up time!

Hi everyone! Things have been pretty steady here at the Librande household, just getting ready for baby Giovanni! My mom through a baby shower for Giovanni and me over the weekend which was a lot of fun! We played a baby name game where we had to guess the top 2 boy and girls names from several different decades including 1880, 1910,1920,1950 etc. and ending with 2000! Needless to say I didn't do very well...but John was certainly a popular name for most decades! We also played a game called 'daddy knows best'. My mom asked Adam 10 questions, and then I had to guess what answers he gave her. I got 4 out of 10 correct, but I was pretty close on several of them, so Adam and I aren't too out of sync when it comes to parenting! We received alot of great baby clothes, diapers and wipes at the shower, and definitely seem to be set with baby clothes size new born-3 months! I don't have pictures from the shower to share, but my mom does, so I'll try to get some pictures...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Wow! I don't know where to begin with all that has been going on this past week, so I'll let the pictures do the talking... We certainly have been enjoying our extra time with Adam during this Christmas break from school and the extra days that he's gotten to have off of work for the holidays! Here Adam and Alida are playing dress up- below is a video of how the process worked... unfortunately the video is sideways, so you may have to turn your head, or the computer screen...enjoy! The Very Hungry Caterpillar is quickly becoming a favorite of Alida's, this girl definitely loves story time! She didn't want to wear her clothes, but Alida had fun wearing her new apron from grandma! This is the new party dress that Alida got from her Great-Aunt Janell and Uncle John. She wore it to our friend's wedding which took place during Mass on the Feast of the Holy Family! And of course, no outfit is complete without movie star sunglasses! Her...

Merry Christmas!

Hi Everyone! Sorry it's been a while since I posted last, but it's been quite a busy week, as I'm sure it has been for you as well! Here are some pictures to catch you up on our Christmas season thus far: On the last Sunday of Advent Adam set up our Christmas tree so that it would be all ready to decorate on Christmas Eve! Adam and Alida enjoying an apple snack after all the hard work of setting up the tree :) We went to the Grotto on the last Sunday of Advent as well. It's a retreat center in East Portland dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows. Every year the Grotto is decorated with TONS of lights and they have choirs sing, puppet shows, a petting zoo, and of course, food. Here Adam and Alida are in the petting zoo area. I tried to get a picture of them with the goats, but the goats were too busy chasing the other kids who had food! Alida had a lot of fun looking at the lights and seeing the baby Jesus in the life sized Nativity scene.  Here is our littl...

Ear Mold

Hi everyone! Only 6 days till Christmas, boy how time flies! Alida discovered that she could scream yesterday, she definitely likes to use those lungs! We've been able to enjoy the sunshine in the cool crisp air outside, which has been great, and now that we are all feeling well we are looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Here are the pictures of Alida's new hearing aid mold as well as some attempts at taking a Christmas picture... It's purple with sparkles :) Love, The Librande Family

Stomach Bug

Hi all! We had quite the stomach bug go around our house this weekend. We were all geared up to go to the Advent Festival at church Saturday night, when Alida lost her cookies about 30 min before we planned on leaving, which was good, because I would much rather clean her up at home then in the car or at church! Needless to say she was sick all through the night, but by morning seemed to be feeling a little bit better. By Sunday night she was back to her normal self! Then came Adam's turn to share in the stomach bug delight! He stayed home from work on Monday....and my poor mother, who watched Alida for an hour on Sunday while Adam went to Mass and I was off enjoying myself at the Nutcracker (I know, what a day to go out, right?), well, mom stayed home from work today after being up all night with this very unwelcome stomach bug! For whatever reason I have been able to avoid the sickness, and I feel like it would've caught up to me by now, so I am certainly counting my blessing...

Happy Feast Day!

Happy feast day of the Immaculate Conception! Isn't Mary awesome? It turns out that Adam's final, which he thought was today, is actually on Wednesday, so we were all able to go to Mass together this morning, which I was so thankful for! Alida got a new ear mold for her hearing aid today, which is purple with sparkles :) I don't have a picture of it for you today (the camera battery is dead :( ) but have no fear, I will post one up ASAP! My Grandma and Grandpa Hodsdon brought us dinner today, which was so great! Anything to make life easier is a huge blessing, not to mention that it was delicious (and there's enough for left overs tomorrow!). Here are some pictures of Alida having fun with her GIANT lion from Aunt T, as well as some pictures from the hospital last weekend. Trust me, we all love cuddling with that lion! Alida's favorite things about the hospital: lots of plastic cups with straws to drink from and play with, small cupboards to open and hide...
